Practical tips: how to make candles burn better and for longer
Trim the wick to around half a centimetre before lighting it – this prevents soot and flickering. When burning pillar candles for the first time, leave them lit until the layer of wax has melted all the way to the edge; otherwise, a tunnel will form. And never place candles in a draught: they burn faster and less evenly there. You can also find taper candles for a laid table among the table candles.
What is the difference between organic stearin and paraffin?
