What to look for in laundry detergent, cleaners, bins and rotary airers
- The declaration: A good laundry detergent tells you what it contains and what it leaves out. For its Sensitive laundry detergent, Sonett specifies plant-based surfactants and leaves out fragrances and colourants.
- The bin: A lid that opens at a touch or with a pedal keeps your hands free, a quiet lid closes without slamming, and a removable inner bin makes changing the bag quick.
- The cleaner: NAIKED offers its own tablets for bathrooms and floors. You dissolve them in water in the spray bottle.
- The rotary airer: Brabantia offers them with 30, 50 and 60 metres of line; the line length determines how much laundry can dry at once.

We stock NAIKED for cleaning in tablet form, so you do not have to buy heavy bottles. In the Brabantia product image, the Touch Bin New is a round, dark green bin with a flat lid; according to Brabantia, it opens with a light touch. According to its own 2023 report, Brabantia keeps spare parts for its range in stock for up to 20 years.

How much laundry detergent do you need?
The dosage depends on water hardness and how dirty the laundry is, and is stated on the packaging. Use the amount specified for your water hardness, no more: using more detergent does not wash your clothes better.

Measure the available space first, then choose the capacity. If you separate your waste, choose a bin with several compartments.
What are cleaning tablets for?
Dissolve one tablet in water in the spray bottle to make ready-to-use cleaner for floors or bathrooms. This saves cupboard space and reduces the weight you have to carry, and you only replace what you have used up.
