More about Herbal Hair Care
Plant-based hair care strengthens hair and scalp with herbs, oils and natural colour pigments, without weighing them down. At Taiga, you’ll find everything in one place: shampoos, solid hair soaps, cold-pressed organic jojoba oil and plant-based hair dyes from khadi — complemented by plant-based care from Weleda, Speick and Fair Squared.
How to recognise good plant-based hair care
- Natural colour pigments: Plant-based hair dye colours with henna, indigo and amla — free from ammonia and peroxides.
- Plant-based oils: Cold-pressed jojoba oil nourishes hair and scalp, used neat or as a treatment.
- Solid hair soaps for different hair types: Coconut for hair that gets greasy quickly, Olive for normal hair and Apricot for sensitive scalps.
- Scalp first: Healthy hair starts at the roots — good care strengthens both.
Our brands: why we chose them
khadi is our first choice for plant-based hair dye: naturally covering, nourishing and completely free from ammonia and peroxides. Weleda and Fair Squared complement the range with plant-based treatments and care, while Speick, I+M and hello simple round it off with honest, natural formulations.
Practical know-how: switching and application
When switching to solid hair soap, your hair often needs a few washes to adjust — stick with it, it’s worth it. Plant-based hair dye works tone on tone: it nourishes the hair as it coats it, rather than lightening it. Test the shade on a strand first. And once a week, your hair will appreciate a dose of jojoba oil or an intensive hair treatment.
Frequently asked questions about plant-based hair care
How well does plant-based hair dye cover?
khadi’s plant-based hair dyes provide natural coverage while nourishing your hair as they colour it. Unlike chemical dyes, they do not lighten the hair — they work tone on tone with your natural hair colour.
Which solid hair soap is right for me?
Choose according to your hair type: Coconut for hair that gets greasy quickly, Olive for normal hair and Apricot for sensitive scalps. This gives your scalp exactly the care it needs.
What are the benefits of using conditioner after washing your hair?
It smooths the hair and makes it easier to comb — a particularly helpful companion when switching to solid hair soap. Find suitable products in the organic conditioner collection.
