Sun Protection
Natural sun protection shields your skin from UVA and UVB rays with mineral filters such as zinc oxide — and works immediately after application, with no waiting time. This selection includes sun care, much of it with natural cosmetics certification: from plastic-free tins with SPF 50 and Zero Waste Sunstick to after-sun care. Reef-friendly, gentle on the skin and designed for the whole family.
How to recognise good natural sun protection
Mineral filters: Zinc oxide and titanium oxide form a protective layer on the skin and work immediately — making them suitable for sensitive skin, too.
The right SPF: The selection ranges from SPF 15 to SPF 50 — available as lotion, oil, tin or stick for on the go.
Plastic-free packaging: Many products come in plastic-free tins or as sticks — including Face & Body with SPF 30 and SPF 50.
Natural cosmetics certification: Certified formulations avoid the chemical UV filters that can harm reefs and oceans.
Our brands: why these ones
Sol de Ibiza is dedicated entirely to mineral sun protection, including plastic-free tins and sticks. Derma, Fair Squared and hello simple complement the selection with sun and after-sun care: from Sun Lotion Apricot to After Sun Lotion Green Tea, which cares for your skin after sunbathing.
How to apply sun protection properly
Apply sun cream generously — using too little product significantly reduces the actual level of protection — and reapply after swimming or drying off. Avoid the midday sun and remember your ears, neck and the tops of your feet. Children's skin needs extra protection: dedicated products such as Baby & Kids with SPF 30 are available for them. After-sun care soothes the skin in the evening — and works well alongside your face care and natural body care.
What is the difference between mineral and chemical sun protection?
Mineral filters such as zinc oxide remain on the surface of the skin and work immediately after application. Chemical filters are absorbed into the skin and need time to take effect — some are also suspected of harming coral reefs. That is why we focus on mineral formulations here.
Is natural sun protection water-resistant?
The range includes water-resistant products for days spent exercising or in the water. Even so, it is important to reapply after swimming and drying off, as no sun protection lasts indefinitely.
Which SPF is right for me?
The fairer your skin and the stronger the sun, the higher your SPF should be. SPF 30 to 50 is recommended for beach holidays and children, while SPF 15 may be enough for short periods in the sun during everyday activities. When you are out and about — for example during yoga and outdoor activities — the stick is particularly practical.
Also a good match: body lotion.
