EisenSpirulina 100 tablets from Sanatur are created by the accumulation of the trace element iron in the microalgae Spirulina. This happens naturally during the growth process of the microalgae.
Iron is an important trace element. Approximately 2.5 to 4 g of iron are stored in the human body. 2/3 of the iron amount is bound in hemoglobin.
The hemoglobin value is often used as an indication for iron content. However, this value does not provide information about the iron content in the body. The level of the hemoglobin value is, for example, crucial for eligibility to donate blood.
Offal, lean red meat, poultry, fish, and shellfish are considered good sources of iron. Other iron sources include legumes, nuts and seeds, whole grain products, and green vegetables.
