Buying guide: diameter and material
The diameter determines how much of the area over the table the light covers: Ø50 cm is suitable for smaller tables or as part of a row of several lights, while Ø70 cm creates a striking focal point over a large dining table. What diameter is right for a dining table?
As a rule of thumb, the light should cover around one third of the table's width – for a two-metre table, this means roughly Ø60 to Ø70 cm, while Ø50 cm is sufficient for smaller tables.
Abaca or paper cord – what is the difference?
Both are woven natural fibres with a similarly warm light effect. Abaca has a coarser, visibly woven texture, while paper cord has a more even and finer surface.
How low should a pendant light hang above the table?
As a guide, the bottom edge should hang around 60 to 75 cm above the tabletop, allowing the light to illuminate the surface without causing glare when you sit down.
