About KOMA schlafgut

KOMA schlafgut is a brand of duvets and pillows filled with kapok. According to the legal notice, the manufacturer’s website is operated by Bell4 GmbH in Bremen, and the fibre is processed in Germany.

Where KOMA schlafgut comes from

  • Provider of the manufacturer’s website according to the legal notice: Bell4 GmbH, Bremen; managing director Nils Rabens
  • According to KOMA, the duvets and pillows are made in regional workshops in Germany
  • Kapok comes from the kapok tree and, according to KOMA, grows wild rather than on plantations

What the bedding is made of

  • Kapok fibre from the fruit pods of the kapok tree; the pods are harvested by hand and dried in the sun, then a blower separates the fibre from the seeds
  • Pillow: filling 100% kapok
  • Duvet: filling consisting of equal parts kapok and cotton, quilted
  • Cover 100% cotton, cream white

The range at Taiga

  • Kapok all-season duvet: 135 x 200 cm (1.100 g filling), 155 x 220 cm (1.360 g) and 200 x 200 cm (1.600 g)
  • Kapok pillow: 40 x 40 cm (300 g), 40 x 60 cm (600 g), 40 x 80 cm (800 g) and 40 x 140 cm (1.600 g), with a separate inner bag that allows the filling quantity to be adjusted

Care

KOMA recommends airing the products regularly. The duvet can be washed at up to 40 °C; remove the inner bag from the pillow first. Do not bleach, tumble dry or iron.
