More about Pans

How to recognise a good enamel frying pan
- Cut-resistant surface: Enamel can withstand knives and metal turners — unlike delicate non-stick coatings, you do not have to worry about scratches.
- Suitable for all hob types: The enamel frying pans in this collection are suitable for all hob types.
- The right size: From the 18-cm egg pan and 22-cm omelette pan to the 37 × 26 cm frying pan with lid — choose your pan based on what you cook most often.
- Extra-strong for everyday use: Models such as the NOUVELLE extra-strong enamel frying pan (28 cm) are designed for intensive daily use.
Our brand: why Riess
All the frying pans in this collection come from Riess, the enamelware specialist. We have consciously focused on this one brand: Riess enamel is built to last — cookware that does not need replacing after two years, but can accompany generations. The selection ranges from the Classic Pure Grey series and Wavehandle models to the iron chestnut pan.
Practical guide: which pan is for what?
For fried and scrambled eggs, the small egg pan (18 cm) is all you need; the omelette pan (22 cm) is the right size for omelettes and pancakes. The classic frying pan is the all-rounder — with a lid, it is also suitable for braising. The country pan is ideal for hearty dishes served straight from the pan, while the iron chestnut pan (32 cm) is the specialist tool for roasting chestnuts.
To complement them: enamel pots and roasting pans, the complete cookware range, kitchen accessories and the Cooking & Baking overview.
Which hob types are enamel frying pans suitable for?
All hob types. This means the pan can continue to be used when you move house or change your hob — one reason why enamel is considered such a durable investment.
What is the difference between enamel and coated frying pans?
Enamel is cut-resistant: you can use metal utensils without damaging a delicate coating. It is also durable — a good enamel frying pan will serve you for many years.
What is the right frying pan size?
For eggs and small portions: 18–22 cm. As an all-round frying pan: around 28 cm, such as the NOUVELLE extra-strong model. For families and large dishes: the 37 × 26 cm frying pan with lid.
