khadi

khadi makes herbal hair dyes as well as hair and skincare products based on Ayurvedic formulas. The company has been producing in Germany since 2007 and, according to its legal notice, is based in Bückeburg, Lower Saxony.

Where khadi comes from

• khadi has been making care and colouring products since 2007
• In 2016, entrepreneur couple Cay-Norbert and Victoria-Johanna Polley took over the company with their family
• Today, around 50 people work at khadi, which also has a studio in Berlin

How the herbal hair dye is made

• According to khadi, the plants are harvested once a year, when their pigments are at their strongest
• Hand-selected plant parts without stalks or stems are used and ground ultra-finely
• Medium Brown contains, for example, indigo, henna, amla, turmeric, neem and camomile
• According to khadi, every batch is tested for microbiology, heavy metals and pesticides

The range at Taiga

• Herbal hair dye: 100 g, including Light Blonde, Medium Blonde, Copper, Light Brown, Medium Brown, Dark Brown, Black, Pure Henna, Pure Indigo and Senna/Cassia
• Color Prep: 100 g, colours hair warm golden blonde and provides a base for dark shades

How to use

Mix the powder with hot water to form a cream and apply it to washed hair. For Medium Brown, khadi specifies a water temperature of 60 °C and a development time of 60 minutes; for Color Prep, 80 to 90 °C.
