How to recognise good skincare products
- The ingredients list: The shorter and clearer it is, the easier it is to see what goes on your skin. hello simple lists six ingredients for its Lime-Cypress Deodorant Cream.
- Named certifications: Each certification applies to what it stands for: the V-Label for vegan products, and Fairtrade for the fair trade of the ingredients it covers. Taiga Transparency shows on the product page what each certification covers and what it does not, together with the source of the information.
Our brands: why we choose them
When selecting our brands, we look at materials, origins and production. We stock Fair Squared from Cologne for creams and facial toners; according to Fair Squared, the green tea in its Facial Tonic comes from fair trade in India. According to its own information, I+M produces entirely in Germany, mainly in Brandenburg; for the Regenerating Facial Oil, we checked the COSMOS ORGANIC certification in the certifier's register. According to its own information, hello simple produces in Berlin and Cologne, with the deodorant cream made in Cologne. According to Dr. Bronner's, all main ingredients come from fair trade. Weleda is our choice for hair oil and hair tonic. Lamazuna stands for solid facial cleansers without a bottle, while Hydrophil stands for bamboo toothbrushes.
A routine you can stick to
A routine consists of cleansing, care and protection. Start with body care using soap or shower gel, add a lotion and, in summer, sun protection. Complete it with facial care for morning and evening, and keep hair care simple, for example with Weleda hair oil. Fewer products that you actually use up are better than a full shelf.
In what order should you apply facial care products?
Go from lightest to richest: start with cleansing, then apply water-based products such as facial toner, followed by cream. During the day, finish with sun protection.
What is the difference between solid and liquid soap?
Solid soap does not need a bottle. Liquid soap is more convenient to dispense and is available in large refill bottles.
How long does a deodorant cream last?
hello simple states that one pack of its Lime-Cypress Deodorant Cream lasts three to four months.
