Sanatur Organic Omega-3 Vegan 90 capsules provides alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) from perilla seed oil, gently cold-pressed and pure, filled into cellulose capsules. The seeds of the Perilla frutescens plant consist of approx. 40% fat with a high content of this omega-3 fatty acid.
Sanatur Organic Omega-3 Vegan 90 capsules from Sanatur are unsaturated fatty acids and play important roles in the body. They belong in every healthy, wholesome diet. One representative of this group is alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). This is special because, until now, oils have been filled into gelatin capsules or into elaborately manufactured corn-based capsules using carrageenan. Thanks to the new process, we can now safely and securely pack the high-quality organic perilla oil into a pure cellulose capsule.
Perilla is a Lamiaceae, also known as Shiso or Red Shiso. The herb is indispensable in Japanese cuisine.
Scientifically, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), found in plant-based foods and fats, is also considered an omega-3 fatty acid. Alpha-linolenic acid, which occurs, for example, in rapeseed, wild sesame, walnuts, and flaxseed oil, is an essential fatty acid that can be converted in the body into the biologically higher omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA through a series of complicated reaction steps.
