Sanatur Organic Chlorella Powder 100g is derived from the tiny freshwater green algae, Chlorella. It naturally contains folic acid, vitamin B12, and iron. The algae is cultivated according to Naturland guidelines.

It measures only one-hundredth of a millimeter. Its strong green color comes from its natural chlorophyll content. The characteristics "small and green" are typical for this microalgae. From these, the name Chlorella was derived, which translates to "small green."

Chlorella grows in freshwater and is spherical in shape. Its outer layer consists of cellulose and encloses a rich spectrum of nutrients including iron, vitamin K1, folic acid (Vit. B9), and vitamin B12.

For our Organic Chlorella, the green algae Chlorella is cultivated according to the recognized guidelines of Naturland. This means that the entire production process of the algae is aligned with ecological and sustainable principles. For example, the algae are nourished exclusively with pure plant extracts. Of course, all plants used for the production of the nutrient-rich extract come from controlled organic cultivation.

Sanatur was among the first suppliers of Chlorella microalgae in Germany. At that time, Chlorella suitable for dietary supplementation was referred to as Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Later, scientific studies restructured the nomenclature of Chlorella microalgae. Chlorella pyrenoidosa first became vulgaris and is currently Chlorella sorokiniana. The strain that Sanatur uses has not changed itself and is still cultivated and closely guarded by the partner farm in Taiwan, one of the leading algae farms worldwide. Sanatur Chlorella, connected to a tradition of over 35 years, was previously marketed under the name Chlorella pyrenoidosa. Scientifically correct, it is now referred to as Chlorella sorokiniana. Therefore, we have decided to use both names in the future.
