Pillowcases
Sustainable cushion covers are the easiest way to transform a room. Made from organic cotton, they make a statement: soft muslin, fair production and designs that last rather than giving way to every season.
How to recognise good cushion covers
- Material: Muslin made from organic cotton is lightweight, breathable and gentle against the skin.
- Retains its shape: good covers withstand washing without losing their shape.
- Certified free from harmful substances: important for textiles that touch your skin every night.
- Timeless design: muted shades are easy to combine and outlast trends.
Our brand: why Hutch&Putch?
Hutch&Putch makes the muslin cushion covers in the Eliane series from organic cotton – gentle against the skin, shape-retaining in the wash and certified free from harmful substances. The colour palette ranges from Off-White, Blush and Old Rose through Stone and Taupe to Anthracite, Berry and Aquamarine: muted shades that can be combined with one another.
Practical know-how: caring for and combining muslin
Muslin is loosely woven cotton – this makes the fabric lightweight and breathable, and it becomes softer with every wash. Wash the covers gently and avoid harsh detergents to keep their colour and shape looking good for longer. When combining shades, two or three related tones – such as Blush, Old Rose and Taupe – create a calmer look than lots of colourful individual pieces. Keeping a second cover in the cupboard makes changing it easy – so your favourite pillow can still be used on wash day.
What exactly is muslin?
Muslin is a loosely woven cotton fabric with a lightly textured surface. It is soft, airy and easy to care for – and develops its characteristic relaxed, crinkled look over time.
Do the cushion covers suit every interior style?
Yes – precisely because the colour palette focuses on muted, timeless shades. Off-White and Stone create a light, clear look, while Berry and Anthracite add warmer, darker accents.
What goes with the cushion covers?
You can find the right filling in organic sleeping pillows. They go well with eco bedding, sustainable fitted sheets and everything in Sleeping & Living – conscious living, curated by Taiga.
