Sleeping pillow

Organic pillows made from natural materials such as kapok, virgin wool and natural latex combine sleeping comfort with a pleasantly dry sleep climate. This selection includes pillows, cervical support pillows and quilted pillows from Prolana and KOMA schlafgut — from the LENA cotton baby pillow to the premium quilted camel hair pillow. They use natural fillings instead of synthetic fibres.

How to recognise a good organic pillow

  • The filling determines the feel: Kapok feels light and airy, while sheep's wool and camel hair balance temperature and moisture. Natural latex provides resilient, shape-retaining support. Quilted pillows filled with wool balls or latex flakes combine a soft cotton cover with a springy core.
  • The pillow type should suit your sleeping position: A cervical support pillow such as the sheep's wool model keeps the cervical spine correctly aligned. A traditional pillow or quilted pillow can be shaped more freely, while the VARIO comfort pillow made from natural latex provides even, stable support.
  • The little ones are catered for too: The LENA cotton baby pillow is designed specifically for children.

Our brands: why these ones

All the pillows in this selection come from two brands: Prolana and KOMA schlafgut. Both use natural materials such as kapok, virgin wool, camel hair, natural latex and cotton in their pillows instead of foam and polyester wadding. The range extends from the BOBO wool ball pillow and premium quilted pillows with wool ball or latex flake fillings to ergonomic cervical support pillows: a suitable option for every type of sleeper, curated by Taiga.

Which filling is right for you?

Kapok is a lightweight plant fibre from the seeds of the kapok tree: breathable, biodegradable and naturally resistant to dust mites — a good choice for allergy sufferers. Virgin wool regulates moisture and temperature, creating a dry, comfortable sleep climate. Natural latex, made from the milky sap of the rubber tree, adapts to your head and neck while retaining its shape — ideal if you need noticeable support. Cotton, meanwhile, is soft, breathable and easy to care for.

Which organic pillow is suitable for allergy sufferers?

Pillows with a kapok filling are a tried-and-tested choice: the fibre is naturally resistant to dust mites. Regular airing also helps keep the pillow fresh and dry.

What is the difference between a cervical support pillow and a traditional pillow?

A cervical support pillow has a firmer, ergonomic shape and keeps the cervical spine in a straight line while you sleep. A traditional pillow or quilted pillow is softer and can be shaped to suit you — many people find this more comfortable, but it provides less targeted support.

How do you care for a natural pillow properly?

Plump it up daily, air it regularly in the fresh air and avoid direct sunlight — this keeps the filling loose and dry. Many natural fillings are not suitable for machine washing, so check your pillow's care label before washing it.
