About Heritedge Viet Crafts
Frequently asked questions about Heritedge Viet Crafts
Where are Heritedge knives made?
In a small village in Cao Bang province in north-eastern Vietnam, hand-forged in family workshops run by the Nung people. Heritedge works directly with the forge and exports to Germany without intermediaries. The knives are dispatched from Germany.
What steel is the Rua Classic made from?
Made from non-stainless carbon steel with a hardness of 60 to 61 HRC. Heritedge recommends a ceramic whetstone with a grit of 1200 to 4000 for sharpening; usually, 15 to 20 strokes per side are enough.
Is the Rua dishwasher-safe?
No. Heat, moisture and detergents can damage the blade and permanently warp the wooden handle. Heritedge recommends washing it by hand, drying it immediately and not leaving the knife to soak in the sink.
